Biography
MARROK | the sylph
BLACKTALON WITCHES | NECROBOTANIST | grumpy, wise, kindhearted
"There are those who would have called me a spirit, a wraith, a phantom of times long past. Listen to my voice, little one, and grasp at my flesh, at my scales. I am not nearly as earthly as you, but that does not make me any less real."
There is a quiet sense of agelessness that clings to Marrok, as if time had simply forgotten his existence. Sometimes it seems that he isn't quite there, as though a part of him has drifted away in the wind, leaving a strange shadow made of twigs and memories. Still, he is as real as any dragon in the clan: flesh and bone and all the contraptions that rightly depict him as a living thing. Marrok is a druid of sorts. He connects deeply to the old places of the world, those that have been cast in shadow and left to be forgotten in the ages. Of all the arcane arts, Marrok excels in necrobotany, a very specific branch of necromancy that deals with dead plants. He can control them as he wishes - even bring them back to life for a limited period of time. There is, however, a darker side to Marrok's magic. As his magic deals with Death and not Life, when he brings life to plants, it... calls something forth. It is said that plants have no soul, but those revived by Marrok's hand seem... different. Even as they die and wither, a flicker of something is left behind. Marrok usually collects these plants and keeps them safe in his den. Despite always looking vaguely menacing and sort of rugged, Marrok is a very kind dragon. He tends to isolate himself, but seems content enough to spend some time with others too when they do not annoy him too much. He runs a small apothecary in the city's Underbelly. Hircine is his rather clumsy and excitable assistant. Unfortunately. |
