So wake me up to an everlasting afterlife
It is designed from the secrets I hide
So set me free

"Life may be hellish and unfair, but when you're given even the smallest chance for happiness, take it."

Personality-wise, Yue is an odd duck when it comes to the archetype of her species. Prickly in demeanor with a sharp tongue to match, this dark-scaled pearlcatcher would rather shut someone up with a contuse blast to the face than listen to their problems. However, this lone wolf stance serves to hide her true personality: that of a selfless soul who would give her life for those who manage to gain her trust.

Though the daughter of a fireborn nocturne and a lightningborn pearlcatcher, Yue herself was plagueborn, this because of a choice her parents had foolishly made - and which had cost one of her brothers his life soon upon hatching. Her youngest brother was then soon whisked off to the Shadow domain for reasons unknown while Yue herself remained with her parents.

As she grew, for a while, things went well -- until the crystallization started. The affliction had begun in a manner similar to gembond, dotted all across the pearlcatcher's charcoal hide, but as she grew, the crystal also grew to the point where it eventually encased her entire form, making it difficult for her to move, eat, and even breathe. Her parents did all they could to keep their remaining child alive, and when on the verge of panic, it was Yue's mother who had the idea of taking their daughter to the Shifting Expanse for electrotherapy.

While the process had worked, allowing Yue to move around again, it had also proved very painful, leaving her with the side-effect of twitching and spasming as her body tried to recover from the ordeal and to grow used to once again being able to move freely. It was then; however, that her parents suddenly decided to leave -- without her. Though the technicians at the lab she'd been left at allowed her to remain, it was temporary. Once she'd recovered enough, she was driven out, due to being a liability and because, though she didn't want to admit, they'd grown sick of her mouth... as had every other dragon around the place where she'd been abandoned by her family.

She'd left then, silently vowing to become stronger on her own, having decided that she didn't need anyone else. And that was when four certain dragons had come into her life. First had been Kelpie and Flora, then, later, Iele and Raijin.

Flora had perished during a stampede at a watering hole before Yue had gotten to know her well, though the fae had seemed nice enough, if not a little too apologetic for her own good. As for Kelpie herself, though she never admitted it, Yue regarded the guardian as a friend, especially after the larger dragon had saved her from being mauled to death by a flock of grouse basilisks at the same oasis where Iele's egg had been found. Still, due to Kelpie's late intervention, Yue had ended up badly wounded, and the guardian took her and the egg to a lab where both were cared for by a kind-hearted skydancer named Zelda.

During Yue's recovery, Iele hatched, and most of the crystal that had once hindered the pearlcatcher had been removed by the healer, revealing a beautiful pattern of swirls upon the newly-healed scales underneath.Still, some of the crystal remained, mainly upon her wings, and on a few places upon her body - a grim reminder of why she was now clanless. Similarly with Flora, Yue didn't know Iele very well, having chosen to distance herself from the mirrorling even though Iele was Kelpie's Charge. Still, seeing the hatchling grow both mentally and physically, though by small measurements, filled the pearlcatcher with a sense of pride that she kept unvoiced.

Once Yue had recovered most of her strength and could move about without feeling pain, the trio of dragons left the lab, only to soon be met by an imperial male who'd gotten himself into a predicament involving a tribe of centaur living in a nearby forest that had been set on fire due to unknown means. The imperial, Raijin, had opted to stay with the trio, much to Yue's annoyance, once the matter with the centaur had been dealt with.

Since Kelpie had fulfilled her Search, she'd wanted to take Iele and go home, back to the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Yue and Raijin decided to aid her, Yue because the guardian had saved her life, and Raijin for reasons unknown to his companions. Though the quartet had managed to reach the border where Lightning met Water, complications arose in the form of a sheer drop, which Yue and Kelpie, due to an accident that left one of the guardian's wings permanently broken, were unable to scale down, which, in turn, forced them to double back to a cave that would lead them to the Sunbeam Ruins, where they would take a detour to get to the Sea.

This choice; however, would prove costly.

During the trek through the cave system that connected Lightning to Light, Kelpie was nearly slain by a serthis assassin whom, learned by the dragons through a note Raijin had found, had been hired to kill the guardian. Though Yue had managed to clean the wound thanks to her limited knowledge of herbs, the guardian remained in a coma and unresponsive to any outside stimuli. Still, the dragons managed to reach the Light border, where they chose to remain until Kelpie either recovered or succumbed to the poison.

It was during this tense pause in the journey that Yue and Raijin had ended up bonding with one another, even though, initially, the two dragons had butted heads due to conflicting personalities. Still, Raijin's persistence was something that had puzzled Yue and left her wondering why the imperial wanted to learn more about her, when he happened to catch her in tears and fretting over Kelpie's unchanging condition. After a brief argument, something told Yue to apologize, and it was then that she realized that Raijin's wish to grow closer to her was genuine, and in turn, Yue finally allowed herself to bear her heart to him.

Despite the overall somberness of their situation, the two dragons chose to cement their bond within one of the ruins not too far from their makeshift camp, and soon after, Yue laid a clutch of four pearly-white eggs, of which had yet to become infused with Light's essence.

For once in her life, Yue was happy; however, this happiness would not last much longer. The day after laying and hiding the clutch, she, despite Raijin's requests for her to rest, returned to searching for a way to help Kelpie while the imperial, on Yue's request, returned to the camp to watch over Kelpie and Iele.

Desperation forced the pearlcatcher to return to the cave system where the assassination attempt had occurred - a choice that would ultimately cost Yue her life. The serthis was still there, and had sabotaged the truffles with an icy poison that, once inhaled, would kill its victim rather than put them in a coma.

Though Yue had managed to escape the cave, she ended up collapsing near the entrance, only to be found by Raijin when he'd grown worried for her. Despite the imperial's attempt to help her, she died in his arms, her wish to save Kelpie unfulfilled and leaving her four unhatched eggs motherless.

With her middle daughter, Cho, Yue now resides in Nature's afterlife, within an area known to the locals of Clan Tazmily as Osohe Castle. While she's grown used to such a serene existence after her hardships back on Sornieth; Yue hopes that, one day, she will be reunited with her mate and remaining daughters, though she has chosen to keep this solely to herself.
