"FIGHT ME! No, really. Fight me. I'll beat your *** from here to Dragonhome."
A dragon scorned many a time within her long life, Dysnomia is not only the epitome of a dragon hailing from the Flamecaller's Forge, but a fearless anarchist who does as she pleases. Though she is of the fire element, she is as cold as ice with little interest in others. Dear Dysnomia is also know for her fiery temper, being seen causing massive fires just to blow off steam on more than one occasion. Unlike most Snappers, Dysnomia travels alone and has no interest in knowledge. When she encounters other Snappers, she adamantly refuses to join their troupe, calling it a waste of time. But of course, her heart wasn't always encased in a mass of magma. During her travels within the Shadowbinder's territory, she met an unnamed Fae whom she mated with. However, tragedy would soon befall the pair and their clutch, as the Fae's clan had sent him and their hatchlings off to the Shadowbinder. Dysnomia, knowing full well that being exalted was considered an honor, still felt a bitter hate towards the dark deity that soon grew into a loathing for almost any dragon that seemed to cross her path. In her grief, Dysnomia left, stumbling towards Plague territory in a blind fog. She hadn't a clue why she'd done so; but seeing as there wasn't anywhere else she could call home, she kept going. Her tendency to snap at anything (and anyone) in her path made most dragons weary of her. The look in her eyes was more than enough to scare off any ill-meaning dragons. And then the tundra came along. Ictus was her name, apparently. The two had met one day when Dysnomia was wandering through the Abiding Boneyard. She'd spotted a tundra perched atop a rock, and stopped to ask for directions. To her surprise, however, the tundra didn't seem to move an inch, even after Dysnomia had shouted. Furious that the tundra didn't respond despite repeated attempts to get the message across, Dysnomia gave up, and stormed off, only to find that the tundra was following her. Dysnomia whipped around, and was about to charge up a bolt of Fire magic (she couldn't control her temper) when the tundra looked down at the dusty ground and tapped it with a claw. Carved in the dirt was the word: "DEAF". Dysnomia halted, and took a hasty step back. Did the tundra know sign language? Dysnomia did, having been taught by one of the dragons in her old clan. She signed a cautious apology. The tundra merely cocked its head at her. What, deaf and stupid? Dysnomia didn't know what to think until the tundra pulled her to her feet and started walking. Before the snapper could react--that tundra was surprisingly strong-- the tundra had brought her to the Clan of Rattling Bone. And the rest is, as they say, history. Nyx and Heracles were a little skeptical at first, but Ictus, the tundra, convinced them that she could vouch for Dysnomia. Dysnomia had only huffed and grumbled something about not wanting to join a lame clan anyways. Now she works as something of a gatherer. Her tough hide can more than withstand the temperatures of the Fire domain, so she goes and gathers as much as she can. Other times, she works as a black-market dealer. Most of the clan looks the other way. Ictus is now her best friend (and something of a partner-in-crime). The two can get up to all sorts of mischief and pranks. Combined with the efforts of Achlys and Ersa (with whom they are on rather good terms with), they are more than enough for the clan to deal with. bio by WhiteTigerGod with minor edits by me
Life hadn't always been like this.
But she could no longer remember the way her long-dead mate looked at her (with love and care in his eyes--no one gazed at her like he did), the way her long-dead hatchlings romped about her feet(they were so alive and full of laughter. They didn't deserve it), the way her old Shadow clan had been (too much had changed). But now she lived here, in a Plague clan that minded its own business, and Flamecaller be damned if this wasn't what she was looking for. |
