Braphen
The Subservient
(Disciple, Mutation, Attendant)

"Fealty with love, valor with honor, disloyalty with vengeance. "

Braphen's life began in the Windswept Plateau but quickly migrated to the Abiding Boneyard. His mother was a plague dragon who returned to her homeland soon after laying her brood and Braphen was a curious young thing who made the pilgrimage to the domain of the Plaguebringer. He heard tales of the harshness of both that land and its denizens, heard lurid tales of explorers who never returned, or worse, those who returned twisted and mutated and carrying a deadly disease back to their home clans. But as a young dragon who had known nothing but the green fields and playful breezes of the Windswept Plateau, it was difficult to comprehend the true danger of these possibilities.
By some miracle, he made it through the Abiding Boneyard. By some miracle he stumbled towards the Rotrock Rim, starving, suffering, wounded and nearly dead. By some miracle his weak body was shielded from the elements by the shadow of bloody, skinless wings.
Braphen awoke deep within a plague lair. He had been fed and his wounds had been tended to, or at least wrapped in bloody bandages to keep them from oozing. He did not know it, but a prophesy had been spun by the blind seer of the Wyrmwound about a windclan mirror who would arrive through the boneyard. The words were vague, but the Queen Jyotis had taken them to mean that this youngling would be valuable to her and her Plague magic.
Braphen, during his journeys, had been infected with a particularly potent strain of Wyrmwound plague that rarely left Plague dragons alive, let alone outsiders. It had ravaged his body, degraded his skin until it ripped and tore off of the muscles underneath, covered him in pestilent blisters, but he had survived.
Jyotis rarely shares her secrets with the common dragon, but there are rumors that he carries the same pestilence as Lobhdah, the blind prophet of the wastes. Some even believe that this sickness possesses them both, lives in their minds as well as their bodies.
It would certainly explain the attitude Braphen has taken towards his silent savior, an attitude that goes far beyond gratitude into love, loyalty, and devotion.
Now, Braphen waits upon the oracle as a servant waits upon their queen, looks upon her as a plant looks upon the bright light of the sun. He rarely speaks to any other and can usually be found at her side, staying close to her, whispering to her, looking as if she is speaking to him despite her silence.
