Biography

Theme song: Olde Growth - Sequoia (warning: loud)
Red Maple Leaf Wildwood Moss
Olde Growth
Tree Tender
Redwood Log Gladekeeper Topiary Cutting

OldeGrowth spends most of his time in the tallest trees that make up the liar. He tends the trees that are far older than any draconic civilization. This is his way of serving the Gladekeeper. He knows many dragons who have been exalted, serving the Gladekeeper in that way. His mate, Sycamore, is one such dragon. He misses her every day, even as he considers taking another mate. He misses having hatchlings around, most of his offspring have gone to serve the Gladekeeper like their mother, or serve as nature ambassadors in other clans. He is proud of all of them, every one of them is beautiful, tree marked like himself and Sycamore.

Sycamore had been his companion in caring for the ancient trees. She would fly up the trees, checking for broken branches, checking the moisture of the mosses. Each ancient tree has an entire ecosystem on its upper branches; insects, birds, frogs, mosses, fungus, some even have small mammals living in them. Caring for these arboreal worlds is a full time job for one dragon, it was the reason OldeGrowth declined to be exalted. None of the other dragons knew quite what was involved in caring for these tiny habitats.

The other dragons care about the trees as much as he does, they simply didn’t have experience caring for them. He should probably train some of the other dragons. There are many who would be interested, but few who OldeGrowth could keep up with. Between his shorter than average wingspan, and the gembond on his wings, OldeGrowth is not a very good flyer. He can fly some, well enough to do his job, well enough to get up the trees. He doesn’t fly for fun very often, it’s hard work. While most Skydancers spend time soaring in the clouds, OldeGrowth enjoys the wind from the top of the tallest trees. The trees that have become his life.
