In nature, bright colors are a warning.

Cyanide is well suited to organizing Hunts and to slaying Beasts, but he once was sent after much weaker prey. Raised out of the egg to be a murderer for the Black Carnivale, he broke free of Vovo's influence when the first throes of Beasthood struck all around him. At first simply trying to survive in the treacherous forests surrounding the ruins of the Carnivale, Cyanide finds himself the unwilling but able leader of those trying to contain the threat.

His imposing figure and cold silence are carefully cultivated to prevent people from figuring out he's actually very poorly socialized, and just shy. Cyanide appears to have regained his empathy for others, refusing to lay a claw on any dragon while the threat of the Beasts still exist, and is one of the most ferocious Hunters defending them. His kill count is unrivaled.

Secretly, he hopes it never ends. He doesn't think he'd know what to do with himself without someone to kill.
