The Master of Coin
Altan and his mate, Ariana, spent many years trekking across Sornieth in an effort to find the Eridanus conclave. Tainted as they are with the Shade's abyssal influence, they had become desperate enough to leave their previous home in Clan Abstergo in the vain hope that the fabled magics of the Eridanus Magi would be able to cleanse them of the corruption. Unfortunately, their magic was not strong enough to cleanse the skydancer pair, but they were able to weave spells that would slow its spread. Since their arrival, the pair has been able to make themselves quite comfortable and put themselves to good use. Altan has a head for numbers, capable of solving complex mathematics with barely any thought. Combined with an excellent memory he easily took over handling the clan treasurer's duties - much to Gergie's delight - and he readily took up extra bookkeeping duties with regards to the clan's storage and vault contents. Everything has been accounted for and organized, and only Altan, Ariana, and Gergie are authorized to handle financial transactions. Though Altan runs a fairly tight ship, the organization was desperately needed and is greatly appreciated. Once a thorough inventory was taken, he began keeping detailed records of any new additions to the Conclave's coffers. The Shade corruption runs deep however, and he finds himself occasionally ill from its poisonous influence - an illness that has, over time, become a more common occurrence. To combat the unpleasant feelings associated with it, he dresses himself in gold finery and regularly preens his feathers to ensure their shine and luster are at their peak. Maintaining his appearance can be difficult on its own, but he's glad for the extra few relatively small tasks he gives himself. They are an ample distraction from the creeping darkness. |
