"You are... strong." Naja remembered Elder Rairon saying. "But if you want to surpass your current abilities, you must become wise, and... if you want to really help other dragons, you must achieve an honest sense of compassion. Only then will you will learn what being strong really is."

Naja flattened her ears in annoyance. How could she be all of those things when she didn't know who she was?

Naja had thought of those words for a long time. Even after moving clans and starting a new life as a fully-fledged adult dragon, Naja never seemed to figure it out. Even as the image of her previous clan's elders faded from her memory, those words stayed bright and haunting.
