Biography

Vearda

Gatherer
Forest Spirit

Vearda was not always the dragon she is today. Born Calandre, she had lived a sheltered life under her mother, Gorget, and three siblings. She wanted nothing to do with nature, the flights, or the rising tensions between Wind and Arcane. It was only when her younger brother, Hex, was ordered into exaltion by the clan matriarch, Taq, and left to fight for Arcane in the Battle of Windstar bay, that she realized that there was more to the world than the crystalline walls of her home. She left with a farewell to her mother and siblings, and travelled across Sornieth, her destination the place where dragons of all types could converge. Upon, arrival at the trading post, she was astounded by the sheer amount of activity: bets on the Windstar battle, Crim and Pinkerton's "feud", a friendly snapper and her assistant far who sent her off with a pouch of coins, a family of faes running a shop near the entrance, and a crabby old pearlcatcher muttering ominously into a bubbling cauldron (she stayed far away). What caught her attention, however, was the massive building behind all of the rabble, named auction house. Wandering over, she was intactly lured to the food section by the tantalizing smell; ration pouches, exotic jungle bugs she'd never seen, a stand dripping with honey and sweet jadevines.

It was there she met her mate, Verdir. He was selling the extras of the day's harvest, a stack of Dustbowl Ivy and half a stack of the sweetest, most beautifully striped Carnaval Tulips. Inviting her to try one, they struck up a conversation, Verdir showing her the various plants he had gathered, and her shyly showing him her prized possession, a glass jar enchanted to perfectly preserve the rarest of all plants, an Aether Cherry, which had been harvested the day of her birth. Verdir invited her to his clan to rest, and all too enamored with him (and sleeping on actual crystal sounded much more inviting than the stable she had been camping at) she agreed. They fast fell in love, and soon after, she changed her name to match her mate's. Newly christened Vearda, she grew to love the clan, and now serves as an aid for her mate.
