Pilirani
(meaning: "persevere, endure")

"My eyes never close"
Pilirani was the last of his clutch to be born. He struggled into the light, too small and too fragile for this new world. His parents wondered if he would make it, and against all odds, he did. There was one issue, however. The cruel genetic defect that left his father forced to commission synthetics to keep his wings moving had been passed down to his youngest son. Pilirani's wings would not move. He tried and tried, but they wouldn't budge. Flat against his back, he nudged them this way and that with his head but still, nothing. It wasn't a huge loss; imperials rarely fly. It was just a cruel twist of fate that left him watching his brother soar into the sky regardless of his breed's hindrance. Pilirani wasn't about to let it get him down, no pun intended. He quickly decided what he would do. Too young for the machinery he saw on his father's wings, he would take up a role where he didn't need to fly. All roles that worked inside the clan would be viable, but Pilirani wasn't sure. After a while, he went to the clan's guards and sat beside them, explaining that he thought he would make a good guard. Guards don't need to fly after all, they simply need to observe and warn. Even during the conversation, he spotted a serthis incursion out of the corner of his eye. Disaster averted, Pilirani puffed up with pride, knowing that he would prove himself yet. Early life by Miasmajesty (more life stuff goes here) (bullet points= stuff that happens in the future / whenever I feel like writing it) -comes out as agender/realizes he's not a boy (my headcanon decided he didn't have a gender when he was a hatchling. might not change pronouns though) -at some point, takes a vision test and finds that his eyesight is significantly better than average -becomes a guard (starts to work his way up the ranks and will eventually end up as the "boss" guard, whatever that's called) -gets wing augmentations of some sort but probably not as high-tech as Negaprion's because lightning is a lot better at technology than nature (still can't fly, but can at least balance himself enough for walking without stumbling and fighting without falling)
