Deep in the countryside, surrounded by thick emerald groves, lies the Duchy of Catlands. Cat knights guard the grand gate to the duchy. Cats roam its streets. The fields are plowed by cats with small plows pulled by small oxen. And catnip grows in those fields.
These lands thrive under the wise leadership of a feline aristocracy that donates funds to charities for common cat villagers and supports feline artists and feline scientists.
In luxurious estates, thoroughbred cats dance at balls in exquisite dresses and costumes, tailored with feline needs in mind.
The noble ancient house of de la Fourrure are the rulers of the Catlands. They say that once upon a time their noble ancestors came from the land of cats and settled in this paradise corner lost in the forest. Numerous servants, peasants, and freethinkers arrived with them. Many cat generations have passed, and Catlands is thriving like never before.

Current generation of dukes of Catlands, lords and ladies de la Fourrure:

Felis de la Fourrure, duke of Catlands - the pure-blooded heir of ragamuffin breed that has been preserved for centuries. The head of the Catlands. Nobly brought up ideal gentleman. All young ladies dream of getting a proposal from him.

Lady Felisia de la Fourrure - Felis' elder sister. She is not burdened with the duties of a duke, as her brother inherited this title. Passionate speleologist and traveling researcher.

Lord Christopher (Kit) de la Fourrure - eldest Felisias son and heir to the title. From birth he was raised as the heir to inherit the Catlands and all responsibility for these lands and the cats that inhabit it.

Little lords and ladies de la Fourrure - Kathleen (Kitty), Catherine (Cat), Thomas (Tomcat) and Mathias (Mouser), younger Felisias children. Playful, mischievous and hyperactive little tricksters. Live with their uncle - Felis.

The Bookwalker, library keeper. His actual name is Charlton (Chat) de la Fourrure, distant cousin to Felis and Felisia, who lives in the mansion. He is a historian of the noble family of de la Fourrures and explores the history of this ancient family.
