It was heavily debated where the wind hatchling had come from, for she was never purchased, traded, or hatched within the clan. The few clans that still held ties within the Wayward didn't know her, or clammed up at the sight of her, leaving Kay mystery of the gods.
Many conspiracies began, all of which are also hotly debated within the Wayward. Some say she was a manifestation of the raw power that rose from the clan, or left over arcane magic from when the clan still resided near the Observatory. Though none of this quite explained her, not all the way.
Kay seemed forever on the outskirts of everyone's mind, in a different way than Annabella, who captured your thoughts and held them for random. Kay just seemed to be a constant image and observation. With all the mystery that surrounded her, why wouldn't you think about her? Talk about her? Maybe give her your life savings now and then? It was completely natural.
It was this unique trait that drew Annabella to her, birds of a feather should flock together. Or in this case dragons with any kind of mind controlling powers should team up and try to take over the universe or something. That's probably how the saying would go.
