For a cook Grendel does very little cooking. Dragons typically prefer to roast (burn) their meat themselves, or have it raw. Despite that, Grendel is very busy with his duties, chiefly the cleaning, sorting, and preparing of food. Working closely with Ixchel, they tally up the food supply and regulate how it is distributed. Occasionally food is scarce, and it falls on the two of them to decide who goes hungry. It is not a pleasant job, but Grendel takes his work very seriously, and guards the stores fiercly despite his size. Late at night, when the day’s work is done, Gren enjoys spending his time nurturing a small herb farm deep in the subterranean garden.
