I did not take up my mantle unwillingly. I knew what I wanted as soon as I realized what it entailed. I bid my time and made the cautious request of the Vaultmaster. She raised an eyebrow at me but granted me my boon and so a pleased Pearlcatcher I was, showering my new pearl with affection and memories.

But I did not want to be passed the title in the way it was thrust on me. When the slaughter was all over, that fiery rage burnt into bitter ashes. The pearl taken forever. The true Kourin line is broken.

I have taken the mantle nevertheless.

I am the new Kourin. So I begin my own lineage where I wished to join an older order.

I have no familiars to tend, they are not safe with me. I study the magics and writing of my predecessor the same.


Come and speak to me, that we may comfort each other.
