Judge and jury

Iron-hard Isra, the swinging gavel and axe of her father's line. With her head high and wings flared to catch the sun, Isra can detect deception from reality. Most of her line would see this is as a business opportunity; Isra thinks it is a sign from the Lightweaver Herself to live life committed to truth.

Isra has no notion of pretty words or saving face. Her wings and claws may be sharp, but she is herself blunt, often speaking out of turn or bringing up uncomfortable truths in lieu of more gentle equivocations. She's often quick to check friends and family for even the palest half-truths and often places herself in the position of guiding star and moral compass for those around her.

With her knack for detecting lies, Isra sees it as her solemn duty to track the greatest source of deception in the world -- the Shade -- and end it, or die trying. Such nobility and purity of purpose is alien to her family, and Isra is increasingly ostracised even within her own home. She studies Light magic and combat with all her heart, aching one day to fly the nest and strike the Shade where it hurts most.

~ In her journey for truth and a way to end the Shade, she found a place in the honor guard of the Sundial Archive, serving under a clan devoted to the cause of the Lightbringer; Metaphorically and literally bringing light where there's darkness. Although she chafes under the more peaceful ways of the Sundial Archives, disdaining their stories and books, she enjoys the truths and hard scripts in stone, and knows that soon they'll bring light to the darkness.
