What Dreams May Come? wrote:

I have been having terrible dreams of late since Grimnoth appeared before me.
Dreams of fear, death, and betrayal.... of two young warriors... ice dragons
locked in a terrible and bloody battle in the land of Plague. What they are
doing there I would like to ponder this thought awhile but the dream drags
me along to its terrible end. As the screams of agony fade away their is a flash of brilliant bright green light and another terrible cry...this one of rage. The Plaguebringer
has lost one of her servants to her rival it seems. That thought crosses
my mind as the scene changes to where my journey began before
Mythos and the old imp, my mentor. This time the tree is glowing
and the roots are moving as if they were tentacles
from the depths of the sea rather than something from the forest floor.
I watch in horror and fascination as life is reconstructed within the mass of roots...
limbs and a skull followed by the flesh. I begin to shake as the sight
before me is to much and before I can loose myself
within my irrational thoughts...I awaken. I know what I saw and yet
I choose not to know...all I can do is cling to the question...
why and for what purpose?
Yet I have no answers...maybe I am not meant to know.

Atonement...

Backstory:
Grimnoth is a stoic, expressionless, and seemingly carefree dragon, as well as the second quietest (in more ways than one) in the clan next to Nadia. He doesn't show much interest in anything around him and stays out of everyone's affairs, only showing interest in conversation when Bones is around. However, due to his curious and troubling appearance he is avoided by most dragons. Except for Nezerah, Nadia, and Viridi he is left to himself even in the clan which is fine by him because when he isn't standing around lost in thought with a faraway look on his face, he loves to spend most of his days sleeping under a shade tree.

There are rumors in the wind saying Grimnoth is actually the lost handsome warrior prince from the land of ice who during his youth was known for his brazen pride and his narcissistic behavior looking down on, mocking, and picking on anyone that seemed weaker than him. The only thing he loved besides himself was his extremely talented older brother whom he admired and looked up to. Supposedly he challenged his older brother to a contest to see who could fly closest to the Wyrmwound before turning back to the starting point and it is there that the ice princes were last seen by a traveling plague merchant. For some reason they were locked in a battle so fierce that they weren't even conscious of their surroundings and so they fell together into the disease ridden boil of Sorneith to serve the Plaguebringer for the rest of eternity.
Those who have heard of this rumor look at him and wonder...

Present:
He showed up one day with Viridi who he met on the roadside; he had been looking for Nezerah in hopes she would have a medicine or protective salve for his soft scale less skin. She examined his curious aliment that he refuses to talk about and deemed it best for him to stay in the clan for daily treatments and protection. Since he has nothing really going for him anyways he decided to stay offering to use his skills in observation and assassination for the clan should Nezerah ever need it.

“And though you think the world is at your feet, it can rise up and tread on you...”
