Morgana

Several hundred years ago, Plaguebringer and Gladekeeper went head to head, sending their forces against each other in a battle for territory and dominance over the land. Though the Glademother fought hard, her filthy sister triumphed at the end of the battle. As punishment for even trying to overcome her brood of deadly diseases, Plaguebringer fired a vile bolt from her maw across the sky like a bright yellow-green comet. Its flames rained down over Gladekeeper's land and each nest they touched, they cursed.

While in the egg, Morgana fell victim to this curse. She hatched a seemingly healthy sapling child, but moments after her birth, she began to develop these strange lumps. They swelled into painful boils that occasionally popped with pus. No matter how many she and her fellow Nature dragons tried to keep the boils at bay, more kept popping up and hardening. After decades of failed cures, Morgana accepted this as her fate.

Although she was convinced she would never be attractive to any dragon in his right mind, in the Sunbeam Ruins she settled down with a handsome and kind male named Arthur. They had many a clutch together, added to countless joyful, loving, pleasant memories.

Morgana has since moved on from the Sunbeam Ruins, after a plague wiped out the clan and her beloved Arthur. She wandered for many a moon, convinced that she was the cause of all the heartbreak and bloodshed, blaming herself for the curse that the Plaguebringer gave her.

She found many wonderful things as she travelled, and one of them was a mystic scroll, which claimed to be able to heal the hardest of diseases. She decided to give the scroll a try, and she found a secluded place within the Tangled Woods, and began the ritual. She spent a month in meditation, never leaving the circle, drinking the bare minimum of water to keep her alive. After this meditation and fasting, she activated the scroll and was surprised to find it working. The beautiful light from the ritual drew the attention of a nearby clan, and they were the first to see the mystic runes now written upon her scales, forever keeping the Plaguebringer's curse at bay.

Morgana decided to settle down with the clan that saw her tranformation, and she is a very happy carer for the clan's numerous hatchlings. She has even begun to allow herself to get closer to another male, accepting the courting overtures of a coatl named Silber.

During the Night of the Nocturne festival, Morgana found a scroll brimming with the Shadowbinder's magic. She was wary of it, but something deep inside, the same instinct that pushed her to try the ritual which healed her; pushed her to yet again risk it. She activated the scroll and a ring of runes surrounded her. She screamed in shock and Silber charged into the ring without thinking of himself. They both writhed in pain as the magic ripped through their bodies and they blacked out.

When they awoke their bodies had changed. There was these strange lines twisting around their heads, wings and bodies. They both shared panicked glances. Morgana's runes had disappeared and she was now frightened that the curse would come back. She waits with trepidation to see if the boils come back, though as the days pass and they don't re-appear her worries fade.
