Once when the young Chromium was still nest-bound, though not far from being free to roam, he witnessed a skydancer flying over the land he was born to, the Dragonhome. Many dragons had flown overhead before, but this one held his interest. Once he was free to live on his own, he made it his mission to find this dragoness he had only witnessed some time ago.
His quest led him through many territories, some more welcoming than others. It was a while before he found his way int the Windsinger's realm. He had been flying when he spotted the storm coloured skydancer and decided to follow her back to her lair. He had landed several feet away from her, but still found his head pinned to the ground moments later by an orange mirror covered in scars. "Rogue, let him go" It was a deep voice, that of a guardian. Out of the corner of his eye, Chromium could see a large green guardian with an orange coloured fey sitting on it's head.
He felt the pressure release, and regained his posture. He was fairly surrounded by an odd assortment of dragons. The she-skydancer sat near the orange mirror, looking uncomfortable about the whole scenario. It was when the brightly coloured fey spoke that all the muttering among the others stopped. She was kind with her words, asking if he was lost. He answered with a yes and a no. He explained that he had left his home and was in search for a beautiful dragon, and that he had every reason to believe it was the skydancer before him.
Soon afterward, Chromium was welcomed into the clan. He learned that her name was Stray. Such a lovely name.. He also learned that his orange attacker was the dragon who had adopted the skydancer when she was but and orphan, and that the fey was head of this clan. It took some time, but he eventually realized that this was where he belonged.
Born an imperial, he aspired to be granted a magic scroll so that he may be closer in size to his sweet skydancer. As such, he has been granted the form of a pearlcatcher.
