Biography
Drawn by the unique, beautifully organic yet comfortably functional dens that Sunspring had sculpted out of discarded garden materials, Slatenrod approached the diminutive fae dragon to ask if he might linger awhile. He had expected her to take her time considering, but she agreed promptly and enthusiastically, and fluttered off to let him choose a nest. Bemused, he settled in, and watched as others wandered by and were also accepted readily and without question by the absent-minded Sunspring.
When the lair started to grow unwieldy, Slatenrod quietly picked up the organizational chores of running the settlement, giving Sunspring continued freedom to build, sculpt, create, and live in her care-free fashion.
The clan grew, and children were born. Ryuu and Gemma, who became seasoned veterans of the Coliseum, took the children under their wings and taught them to fight, and to serve. Those who wished to serve the Gladekeeper were exalted with honor, courage, and discipline, hard-earned through their time in training.
Slatenrod always missed the children, when they left to serve the Gladekeeper, or were sold to other tribes. They never came back of course, that was part of the deal. Still, they were so young, so full of promise, to be leaving their home, never to return. His heart ached particularly when it was his own brood.
