Risk earned his name because, as a hatchling he would jump off cliffs and see how close to the ground he would dare to get before spreading his wings and flying away. As he grew, he continued trying riskier and riskier things. He particularly likes trying to scale mountains without the help of his wings. He met his familiar one day during one of his breaks. He had scaled a mountain and took a nap in the sun. When he woke up he found the familiar snoozing behind one of the stones on his body because it thought that the stone was a rock attached to the ground (it's not that smart of a familiar). They quickly bonded over training and various activities and have been inseparable ever since.
