Plagued by the loss of her land and the last of her family, Lightning is a shattered dragon. Never given a chance to grieve and afraid of getting attached to anyone else for fear of losing them, she hides her emotions under a veil of anger and is quick to lash out. She despises the deities and how they use normal dragons as pawns in their quest for Dominance over Sornieth.

Despite her walls and thorns, Serigala has managed to get close to her. Lightning took the lost hatchling under her metaphorical wing in an attempt at redemption for the mistakes she made that caused the loss of her sister. She met her Wintermane Bowman, Odin, after he attacked Serigala and she came to her defense and fought him. They gained each other's respect and now they are close companions.


Lightning gets along very well with Carolina. The two can often be found sparring with each other in the training grounds with a small crowd gathered around them. Matches between the two are a sight to behold. As former soldiers, they understand. No need to explain why they go tense at certain sounds, why they avoid specific items or colors like a plague. Why certain phrases or names will make them drop out of a conversation or leave the room entirely because they'll feel like they're drowning if they don't.

They understand what it's like to lose family. After the Sending for the Firestorm, Lightning often checked in on Carolina and her family. She usually didn't say anything, but her presence was enough to let them know she was around if they needed her. Allison latched onto her the way Serigala did when she was found, and she did her best to guide the young dragonling through her grief.

She taught Allison to channel her emotion into something, so Allison ran.
