Biography
Mercy:
No one's really sure where Mercy came from or why she's chosen to associate with the members of the Shadeburn clan. She's Plague, all right - she makes no effort to conceal her armband - and her quiet, unearthly demeanor unsettles some of the dragons.
The Spiral has quite the collection of stories about herself. She says that her name was born of enemies' habits of begging her for mercy (and that doesn't really help assuage the anxiety that the Shadeburn keeps toward her). The feathered wings, she says, were ripped from vanquished foes and the blood has never quite faded from the plumage. Mercy boasts that the eyes embedded in her leathery wings, piercing and cold, were plucked from the skulls of Ice dragons. Why Ice? "They see things as they really are. Not quite like Light-born dragons. I find that the Lightweaver's children are... too idealistic, at times. They forget that shining too much light on an object can obscure its true nature just as much as any shadow cast."
Mercy has taken an interest in the Engineer contingent and can be often found floating around them, watching their many experiments and forays into inventing. There is a small but tenacious rumor that she might be influencing their creations to better serve some mysterious and nefarious end.
