(This is an actual legend, I merely put it into my own words.)

In the wild, koi are fish that gain strength from swimming up currents. Many centuries ago, a school containing thousands of koi swam up the Yellow River. All was going well until the koi's path was stopped by a waterfall. Immediately, a large sum of them grew discouraged and gave up their journey. Yet a group of 360 koi were determined to continue. Straining and leaping each koi strived to reach the top of the waterfall. Over and over again the koi flung themselves up only to fall back down again. All this splashing noise gained the attention of the local demons who laughed and laughed at the struggling koi. Adding to their misery, the demons increased the size of the falls. But the koi still didn't give up ! The koi tried continuously for hundreds of years. At last, one heroic leap, a single koi reached the top of the falls. The God’s smiled down in approval and transformed the exhausted koi into a shining dragon. Whenever another koi finds the strength to reach the top of the falls, he too shall become a heroic dragon.
