Biography

Barclay ❧ Lieutenant Guard
Much as Adam and Anais make an unlikely pair, Barclay and his coliseum partner Belinda are just as unlikely as a duo. A fierce combattant in his own right, Barclay would rather be in the thick of things than on patrol and takes no greater pleasure than embellishing his stories at the Outpost’s tavern.

Trained in a variety of martial arts, Barclay’s long-time mentor was a Longneck who’d left his own home in Beastclan territory to find a new place at Scatterspark. The Longneck’s practices of meditation and mindfulness were lost on the young, brash dragon over the years, and when Barclay joined the ranks of the Outpost’s guard, the Longneck had gleefully told Belinda with a mischievous glint in his eye, “That one’s your problem now.”

Barclay maintains a close friendship with the old Longneck, who enjoys listening to the dragon regale anyone who will listen with his tales of grandeur and dominance in battle, sharing knowing looks with Belinda over their pints when Barclay’s stories begin to verge on the unbelievable. Although the Longneck keeps his thoughts to himself, content to let the rowdy Barclay spin his tall tales for hours on end, Belinda is quick to refute his claims with a short word.
