No one is really sure what it is that Mythos does - not even Mae, co-leader of the clan and the mysterious Imperial's lover. When he first joined the clan he appeared a pure and sparkling rose hue, but after a visit to the Tangled Wood during the Trickmurk Circus he came back... changed. Older dragons call it shadow-touched, when the mysterious magics of the Shadowbinder's realm sink in to the skins of certain dragons, warping them and leaving strange markings. It cannot be passed down to offspring and may disappear one day on it's own - or it may stay permanently. Mythos isn't bothered by it, and it isn't harming anyone, so the clan has come to accept it without thinking twice about it - though newbies and visiting dragons might balk at first at the sinister look.
