"Run."

Seeking refuge from outer sources, two hatchlings fled across the Southern Icefield, through the Ashfall Waste, and deep into the Shifting Expanse. Many may seem to think that exalting your dragon to your god is a good and honorable thing to do, but some people are extremists and them take exalting as sacrifice. Fleeing to the Shifting Expanse, the two hoped to find sanctuary from prying hands and greedy clans looking only to make profit.

A particular group had been after them for a while and managed to catch Anastaz, the elder of the twins. Filled with grief and a strong, fiery spirit, Akidwi charged into battle to save her gentle brother.

The two sat amongst a miniature sea of blood, earning their honor long before any other hatchling even left the nursery. The duo collapsed into the sands, panting heavily and holding eachother close.

As the apprentice knights Kuroyasha and Hekate were doing their regular rounds to check borders and chase off pests, they quickly came across the seemingly lifeless bodies of the two hatchlings. Fearing the worst, Hekate sent Kuroyasha back to alert the others of the possible attempt at siege, or even worse, a murderer killing innocents.

While Kuroyasha was gone, Hekate noticed something remarkable. The darker of the two coatls shifted and looked up at her, eyes as clear as the icy landscape she left behind.

"Well aren't you a curious thing. Come with me, and you will speak with our leader." Hekate said, leading the two small ones to the cave buried deep within the sands.
