Akihiko was born in the Molten Scars, in a hot cave full of lava rivers. He noticed almost immeadiatly the difference between his brothers and himself. While the other hatchlings of the nest were average Fire dragons, he was more calm and silent, preferring to play with the lava around their lair, making small magma statues resembling his parents and brothers, looking for colorful objects to decorate his lair, as all Wildclaw dragons. His clan tried to mutate his personality, it was a shame to have a Fire dragon looking for feathers and colored stones instead of fighting and roaring for his pride. Akihiko was forced to learn to fight against other dragons, so he was a quite strong warrior, even if he always refuses to fight if not provoked.
After years of discussions and battles against his clan and family, with bleeding wounds and pride, he decided to leave the harsh land of the Ashfall Waste. Akihiko didn't know exactly where to go, he started to visit almost every land his strong legs could go. He met Tempesta in the Windswept Plateau, while he was relaxing in a calm area of the Zephyr Steppes.
He decided to help Tempesta after a night spent together trying to save a wounded, old and wise Coatl, Fergus.
After that and more and more adventures, Akihiko proved Tempesta that no matter the Flight, two strong souls can meet and help each other for the rest of their lifes.

Very calm, Akihiko is able to remain silent and steady in almost every situation. He's anyway capable to fight well if needed, even if he usually prefers to avoid fights. He has a quite strategic mind, for this reason Tempesta always asks for his opinion about a certain diplomatic issue caused by the Guardian not-so-soft behavior.
The Wildclaw usually prefers to stay alone and meditate, but he appreciate the company of his beloved friend, liking to talk about Clan matters and Sornieth latest news. He tries to convince his friend to join him in meditations sometimes, without very good results usually.
He doesn't trust Shadow dragons in general, as he considers their misleading behavior a threat for the Clan. Anyway, the few Shadow dragons in their group, especially Zarroc, proved to be trusted anytime, and Akihiko recognize that despite the Imperial's violent nature.
The Fire dragon's also trying to help Kerkus, as he feel a great fear in him after his period in the Scarred Wasteland, trying to relax his broken spirit with meditation and warm friendship.

His companion, a Tengu found in the Bamboo Falls with broken left leg and wing, is always with him. Akihiko helped him during his convalescence, and even if the Tengu knew very well the stories about the endless fight between dragons and Beastclans, he couldn't prevent to grow fond to the Wildclaw. He's a loyal friend, who has great knowledge of martial arts and meditations he taught him. They're usually seen under trees sipping tea and talking quietly, when they're not training martial arts and meditation techniques
