아버지는 자식들에게 무거운 운명을 짊어지게 하고 싶지 않으셨다. 그렇기에 나를 임신했던 어머니를 데리고 아버지는 도망쳤고 설원에서 나를 낳으셨지만 집안의 그 누구도 이렇게 가문의 피를 진하게 이어받은 자가 없었다. 그런 나를 위해 아버지는 자신의 자리로 돌아가 모든 것을 떠안으셨다. 그렇게 아버지는 1차 대전쟁에서 압승이라는 결과를 만드셨다. 2차 대전쟁이 시작되던 날 아버지는 내게 증조부 때부터 내려오던 약속의 증표를 쥐어주시며 "꼭 돌아오겠다" 약조하시고는 전쟁이 끝나자 소리 소문 없이 사라져버리셨다. 나는 아직도 아버지가 살아 계시는 것조차 알지 못한다. 아버지가 없어진 자리은 많은사람이 내가 앉기를 바랬지만 하얀 눈을 가진 것을 탐탁지 못한 일부 귀족들이 있었다. 그러나 나의 아버지는 이마저도 생각해놨었던 것인지 두 진영은 얼마 안되어 통합되었고, 그 자리는 나만이 앉을 수 있는 자리가 되었다. 제3차 대전이 끝나고, 나의 형제들은 포로가 되거나 생사를 알수없었고, 나는 수장이 되었다. 나의 아버지 Rubyfinder |
