He never wanted to leave. To leave his kingdom, the place he knew and was adored in. But the kingdom was suffering from violent plague that was turning gembound dragons to statues of crystal, those with Crystalline bodies were even more susceptible. Being the heir he was too important to succumb to the virus that had claimed his father and siblings. He survived this long due to his mother's overbearing nature but she too started showing the signs. Desperate to ensure his survival she cast a spell to elevate his body temperature and cast him out alone. The last Seer of the court advised him to go south till he met ice and a flame like himself.

Disguised as a todden dragon so enemies of the kingdom do not attack or kidnap him Pharaoh made it to the edge of the wastes. He could see the ice encrusted lands far off across the sea. Even then he longed to return, despite the danger of death or capture. And yet as he thought of home his wings unfurled and he took to the sky. He knew he couldn't return, there could be nothing to return to.

Pleasant waters gave way to snow and sleet. His heated body cut the bite of the cold but he developed icicles in his mane from the melted water. He held the ragged wraps against himself, shivering slightly. He touched down and sank up to his chest in a snow bank. He blew fire to make short work of the bank. But it soaked him to the bone and sapped his energy. He barely made it to a cave before nightfall. He awoke to soft singing, leaping dizzily to his feet and getting tangled up in a blanket. A blue Skydancer chuckled at him, "Relax, you're sick but safe." She was no princess, though her body shone of crystal that rest of her was terribly plain. She adorned herself in armor though didn't wear scars to suggest her being a mercenary. Hauyne was her name, fitting for brilliant blue crystal scales reflected the mineral's beauty. She was on a journey of self discovery as she did not know her place in the world let alone her clan. She was captivated by Pharaoh's heritage, unfortunately causing the start of a dangerous egoistical path the young Skydancer must walk.
She loved him blindly, for his scales shorn like the sun, her admiration which had first picked him up from his sorry state soon stroked and flattered his ego like no one else had before. Maybe it was her unfamiliarity or how she allowed him to name and decide their children's fate, but the once timid Skydancer became full of himself. He made so many failed attempts to rebuild his fallen kingdom, but the traveling dragons never wanted to deal with the deluded male. Hauyne realized her mistake too late when Pharaoh ranted about how the Flamecaller blessed him to survive and how he was appalled by his children's sickly colors. She attacked him in fury and threw him out, chasing him as far as her clan's territory markers. In sorrow for allowing this monster to exist she returned to the cave with the newest nest and fled to warmer lands.

His resolve shaken and ego knocked he deflated as now he was lost. He mortally regretted his words, wishing to return to his blue beauty but the sting of her claws kept him running. He's a fool, a coward with the pride of his lost father. He ran and ran till he ran into a tree so snow covered he didn't see it. Dazed he lay there till a small form melted from the snow. A young Nocturne of regal disposition had found him in his less than ideal predicament. She used her wings to clear away the snow and in an instant he realized she was the flame the Seer had spoken of. He jumped to his feet and found the ground meeting him once more as he was still too dizzy to move. She chuckled and called a friend to help her out and carry him back home. A grand blue scaled Guardian waded through the snow with ease. She plucked him from the snow and they returned to their home; Everspring Sanctuary. It was true to it's name, the base of the mountain which just beyond the protective trees was surrounded by a blizzard was warm and snow free save for the very edges of the clearing. Sun shone brilliantly and many of the clan dragons were sunning themselves lazily enjoying a beautiful day.

The Nocturne who found him was named Azalea, she too had to flee from her kingdom. Pharaoh was drawn to her, she was a perfect female. She carries a well sought bloodline and held herself so well. Her scales we're bare but it didn't faze him. He began to court her as best he could, bringing gifts of flowers and hand cut gems. She wasn't pleased with the rather shallow approach and demanded if he is so intent on her affections he pull his weight in the clan. So he did, donning golden armor he set out to become a fighter. He joined the team of Snowball, a serious Nocturne and Mason, the clan's assassin. They carved a name for themselves and Pharaoh learned that while he was excellent with fire magic he preferred supporting his team with healing spells. He earned his keep when he returned from training, going to Azalea and asking if this was enough for her to look his way. She gave him a smile and said yes. Through his fighting he earned enough treasure to assist her in finding the perfect genes to bring out the shine of her scales. He was disappointed when she chose muted genes rather than the colorful, yet expensive, gem genes. She argued that she didn't need flashy genes to feel happy.

As he became a bigger figure in the clan his dark grimy arrogance was rising as he was one of the flashiest dragons in the clan. It was getting to his head much to his mate's dismay. She had seen what an unchecked arrogant ego does to clan's and kingdoms. She hated having to go through with this but after he snapped at Sungrove she steeled her resolve and purchased two gene scrolls, without his golden crystal scales he'll have nothing to flaunt about with.

She waited, hoping he'd change but it got worse. He'd never be foolish enough to properly challenge Jaden for the title of leader but he spared with her many a time. Runewing often knocked on his tail when he'd get too vicious as her magic is more effective against him. Sometimes he would spout crazy things about how he was to rebuild his kingdom bigger and stronger, he'd rival the Flamecaller in magnificence. Many had chalked it up his grief over losing his home and family so no one gave him many of a glance during his ranting. It was Azalea who listened and feared he'd ruin the only place they have to call home. She saw her brother in him and she was scared. He couldn't be left unchecked, so that night while he slept Azalea took out her scrolls and cast the magic on him to change him and used imbued jewelry to dampen his madness. She loves him too much to see him be consumed with arrogance, greed and delusions that can never come true.

When he awoke he was needless to say angry but she gave him a full lecture, chewing him out for the grief and pain he put her through. He had to regain her trust through hard work but she never stopped loving him.
