Since close similarities is something he has a hard time standing,he can't find it in him self to enjoy the clan at all if both dragons in a breeding pair are present.This has let him to keep to himself,leaving the clan lair for long periods of time in search of anything to add to the lairs structure.
He's able to get a long easily with a few dragons in the star shard clan,and those are the ones who don't resemble their breeding partner nearly exactly . So he's trying to get used to it,trying

Though the usually foggy state of the marshland area around the lair gives him some security,since he can't see any reflections in the water.
