Nebula's job within the clan isn't entirely clear to anyone. She entertains them with mysterious magic shows on her best of days, but most of the time they don't see her at all.

In reality, she owes a great debt to Prism and Daydream. In exchange for a roof over her head and dragons who won't try to kill her, she truly becomes a shadow, nothing but a flitting feeling. She patrols their borders, keeping an eye out for threats and traitors and everything in between; including the unhatched eggs that show up with a strange frequency. She often comes home with an egg clutched in her claws, telling stories of the poor abandoned thing all alone in the desert.

They try to believe her. They really do.
