Pearline arrived at the Envoy clan after an unfortunate incident in her previous clan. She prefers not to talk about it, often grumbling under her breath when prompted. When asked if she prefers it here she never gives a straight answer. Nonetheless she has made a number of friends in the lair, most notably Royale. The Pearlcatcher often comes to join her and Belial at night to gaze at the stars.

The Imperial knows some of what happens around the lair. She and Belial have seen things, though she isn't half as disturbed as he is. Bad things sometimes happen and nothing can be done to stop it. As long as no non-shadow dragons enter the clearing on specific nights they will be fine. She has no trouble recalling the screams from the occasions it did happen.

Sometimes she wonders what Kali does on those nights. That dragon is one of the few who are perfectly safe traversing the area at night. Abezethibou and Nyx are less anxious to get out when the moon starts to fill out. They help in her task by curling up near the entrance to the lair on dangerous nights. It's necessary because little Dove has tried to sneak by them more than once to 'listen to the music'. Pearline has never heard any music, but she doesn't doubt the Fae either.

Strange things happen in the Shadows. But at least here she's safe and treated with more dignity than her previous clan. She can deal with the screaming.

Dove disappeared a time ago. Pearline wouldn't even had noticed it, but she hadn't even had to stop Beaut from hiding for such a long time. The pair snuck out on a moonless night, covered by the darkness. Pearline doesn't mind, much. Lilith wasn't upset either, only mumbling something about 'wishing them luck' when inquired on what she wanted to do. Life in the Envoy clan is based on the willingness of a dragon to be there, and Lilith will never force anyone to live near the clearing.

Pearline misses the Fae. They were fun to tease, and quick to lose their temper. But there are other dragons here she can tease and play riddles with. And at least Royale provides amusement along with Kopek.
