Biography
Caer Ventus
Inner Circle
Monsoon Mercenaries
"One dragon's sunset is another dragon's dawn. I can't tell you what's waiting out there. I can't change what I've done. But I can choose to make the most of anything life throws at me."
Pheo was born and raised in a Fire clan with his mate and only (at the time) hatchling. The leaders of the clan were weak and pacifistic, even in the face of unavoidable danger. One day while he’s out hunting, rogue dragons attack the camp and in their panic, the clan leaders give irrational orders that leave the clan in chaos. Pheo’s family is killed before he can return to help.
Heartbroken, Pheo turned his back on his clan and set out on his own. Left to his own thoughts, he decided that only strength and power could have saved them. He determined to train as hard as possible, to become the strongest, so nothing could ever hurt him again.
He fashioned himself a set of pitch black armour, hybridising plate and cloth for high mobility and low weight. As he took on contracts around Sornieth, dragons began to call him the Black Knight for it.
His travels took him to a Wind clan where he was spotted by its Fae leader. Levante admired his prowess and offered to hire him as a mercenary. Pheo accepted, determined to help her keep her family safe, something he could not.
He intended to move on after training them, but was struck by an incident in the clan lair. Banith is teasing Zephrys about her being smaller and weaker and Pheo, curious, watches. He asks Banith why she bothers with her younger sister, to which the Fae says that no matter how weak, she’s still family, and shouldn’t be loved any less because of it. This warms Pheo’s frozen heart and he determines to stay, if only to keep the family safe.
Today, when he's not taking the clan leaders through the Coliseum to train, the Black Knight works with Halcyon in their joint collective, the Monsoon Mercenaries. Generously funded by Levante, the two set up in the clan's old lair in the Reedcleft Ascent, training future exaltees to send to the Windsinger. Pheo handles battle training, while Halcyon teaches them to speak and write stirring speeches. He divides his time equally between Caer Ventus and the Monsoon Mercenaries, but in general, is closer to Halcyon that to his actual employers. Their relationship is completely platonic, but Pheo's protectiveness borders almost on clinginess.

Exalting Pheo to the service of the Windsinger will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
