Biography
Healer of the Clan.
Cairo was originally named Serilla. She chose her name because she loves Egyptian culture; collecting mummies and ancient buried trinkets is one of her favourite pursuits. Healing is another. She finds fighting distasteful, but she does make good use of the mosses and animal parts that the warriors bring back, using them for her tinctures and poultices.
The Clan lacks a true "mother" figure; it doesn't require one. Dragons can fend for themselves, and the most a hatchling really needs is a warm nest and a teacher. The latter is a role that Metonymy fills well. Dragons are their own protectors, and keep their own counsel. Cairo does, however, have a keen sense of empathy. She can talk sad or angry dragons out of their moods, and she can offer sensible advice ranging from a good bedtime to the best way to make an apology.
Cairo has a fierce rivalry with the witch-doctor, ZetaAquarii; as an herbalist, she firmly believes in the healing power of love, while ZetaAquarii swears by the power of her blood amulets and scavenged bones. However, Cairo believes in near-death experiences that bring about medical miracles, and she strives to provide her patients with warmth and familial care. Her worst moments are when she has a patient so isolated from the world that they have no ties to other dragons, and she has to send them into the void of death alone.
