Zakris
The Hedon Prince
arrogant • charming • lazy I'm sorry, I don't think we've met. I wouldn't forget a pretty face like that. Zakris is proof that not every dragon in Clan Cornifer is, as he would snidely put it, "a goody two-shoes." Rather, Zakris believes strongly in survival of the fittest, and doing what he wants when he desires it. He doesn't protect others out of a sense of self-sacrifice. It's a stable job, and he's good at it. Really, Zakris is an impulsive, hedonistic dragon, often making absolutely foolish mistakes in his youth simply to see what it would feel like. He has pursued almost every one of the single male and female dragons in the clan at one time or another as the mood struck him, Bukere included. He took her lack of interest with a smug grin; clearly, the problem was just that Bukere didn't know what she was missing. He follows Bukere because she has completely dominated him in combat more than once. So, he accepts her as the alpha and leader of the clan. He will shamelessly admit he joined Cornifer because of all the attractive clan members. Thanks to Cornifer's many allies, and Zakris acting as Cornifer's Water Ambassador, he has many chances to meet and shamelessly flirt with attractive dragons of all types, so he is rarely bored. Other dragons are often drawn to Zakris because of his cocky smile. He is undeniably handsome, and unfortunately he is well aware of it. Zakris does have some core values: Don't touch what belongs to him, don't hurt anyone he cares for, and don't get in his way. He doesn't do well with children, he hates doing any chore outside of his job as a fighter, and he rarely listens to anyone he doesn't consider a better fighter than himself. He cracks jokes easily and flirts with anyone he can, but he backs off when a dragon seems uncomfortable. He is only interested in willing and eager partners. Bukere maintains her trust in him because he has never broken his word, and he keeps himself in check when necessary. When he isn't doing a mission, he can often be found training with Seris. Otherwise, he can be found napping under his favorite tree just outside of Cornifer's vault in Persephone's garden, careful not to tread on her flowers for fear of her wrath. |
