Biography

FIRE-1.png
LYRE

NpfFrZv.png

Once upon a time, a dragon lived in Clan Riss. That dragon moved on to join another clan. Then a different dragon - called Cairo - came to join us some years later. One day, Cairo was taking inventory of some of the clan's treasury in a the mass accounting of old hoard goods which Clan Riss performs once a year. Unfortunately, some sealed items had been left in the wrong segment of the vault, and objects that should have only been handled by experienced clan mages were instead picked up by the inexperienced newcomer. Among the items was a blood-sealed tome which the former resident of our clan had imbued with several of her memories. She had left it behind for her children and grandchildren to make use of her in her absence.

Well, Cairo had no idea what was in his claws, and in a fit of curiosity used some of his own magic to unseal the tome. The results were dramatic. The tome was destroyed, and the 'echo' of the past dragon burst forth and grafted itself onto Cairo's being. Essentially, a fragment of one dragon's soul and memories merged with another, changing both in the process.

Cairo goes by Lyre now, and they are... adjusting. They're not the same dragon they were before, but neither are they a copy of the old dragon (who is still alive and well and we don't even think she knows this happened, whoops). So it's complicated. But all things considered there's been surprisingly little trauma about it, and Lyre makes themselves very useful both in their former capacity as an apprentice smith, and with their new skills at dungeon-delving and identifying valuable artifacts.
