IWhen DeathFlight first joined HeartThief’s clan, led by DarkFire, she was frightened and angry, thirsty for revenge. Originally a kind, gentle, inquisitive dragon, her mate had been torn from her and exalted. Though she knew he was now fulfilling a higher purpose, losing him hurt her deeply. Of course, to make matters worse, three of the four children she had had with her mate were also exalted and she was placed in the auction house.
Desperate to find a clan willing to persue revenge with her, she searched far and wide, through all the world and all the territories. It left her weak and tired. Finally, she stumbled into DarkFire’s clan lair, ready to lash out at any dragon that looked at her funny.
But no one gave her funny looks or spoke cruelly to her. Instead, they all kindly, and gently cared for her and she learned to trust again. They gently convinced her not to pursue revenge, but practice forgiveness.
The peace she felt when at last she forgave put a smile back on her face, although the pain still remained and haunted her. She dreamed of Mercury, her once mate, every night, remembering the last time she saw him and would always awaken with big dragon tears falling from her eyes.
The other dragons ignored her tears, not wanting to embarrass her, until one day, two Tundras, mates, joined the clan.
“Why are you crying?” The female, Maron, asked her gently one morning, when she noticed the dragon trying to wipe away tears.
DeathFlight looked up, startled. No one ever talked to her when she was crying, though sometimes all she wanted was someone to just sit with her while she did. “My mate…he was exalted and I was placed in the auction house…I miss him.”
Maron’s eyes widened, “I’m so sorry. That’s awful! I don’t know what I would do if I ever lost Heartsong.”
“I hope you never have to feel that pain.”
“Heartsong and I are looking for a third dragon to join our coliseum party…would you care to join us? You would have something to do, we would have a full party…perhaps we could become friends as well…help end the pain in your heart.”
“I have wanted to begin fighting….” DeathFlight admitted quietly. “I was just afraid to ask anyone if I could join.”
“Well, you’ve been invited.” Maron told her with a smile. “Let me know your answer!”
DeathFlight smiled for the first time as Maron walked away. She felt as though she had a friend. She thought about the Tundra’s proposition and decided that she was going to join their party.
Together, the trio fought in the Coliseum day after day and though definitely not the strongest team, they fought their way to level thirteen…and continue fighting to this day. DeathFlight found it was a good way to safely get out her rage and pain.
She's still searching for her only unexalted child by her first mate.
One day, a new dragon appeared in the lair. His name was Attor and he was a nocturne...just like she was. She was drawn to him and he to her, and they soon became close friends. One day, he asked her a question she'd never dreamed of being asked again.
"DeathFlight...would you do me the honor of being my mate?"
She was surprised...and...to her shock...excited. It made her heart sing. She told him yes, and soon she laid two eggs.
She was so happy when they hatched and she named them after her only other unexalted child.... Shadow Wing, and Shadow Breath. She's excited for her life with her mate.

March 13, 2016
Shadow Wing and Shadow Breath are almost always at each other's throats, but I can tell that it's with love. Shadow Breath wants to battle. I don't think she realizes how dangerous it is in the coliseum, especially with her being more of a brainiac than a fighter. Perhaps if her father and I can find a stronger dragon to fight with her, and train her, then it will be okay. Until then, both of our children will remain in the lair, where they are safe.

Recently, a new dragon has shown up. She's a female ridgeback and she's training my fighting team in the coliseum. We have seen avenues I never dreamed possible!
