Velda
Captain in the Vanorian Army

Velda is one of Vanoria’s oldest and most talented officers. Although her lack of magic prevents her from advancing any higher than the rank of Captain, many senior officers defer to her judgement when it comes to battlefield tactics.

Unfortunately for the Vanorians, Velda is not often found alongside her fellow soldiers. Although she is certainly a formidable force when it comes to combat, Velda is warm and caring at heart, and is often found tending to her children, whom she is fiercely protective of. Her mate, Captain Caelan, shares the sentiment, although neither of them can exactly explain why they fear so much for the safety of their hatchlings. It’s suspected that their overprotective natures are the reason none of their children have stayed within the kingdom’s borders, but Velda insists that it’s simply the way of Guardians and Mirrors.

While Velda is certainly a kind soul, she has her flaws, and they run much deeper than her blunt way of speaking or her sarcastic remarks. Her memory is is notoriously flawed, and only extends as far back as the early years of Queen Atalya’s rule. Perhaps that’s to be expected, considering her impressive age, but whenever the topic of her faulty memory is brought up, her armlet, which never leaves her person, seems to emit a faint, pink glow.
