Spade was the second dragon to join the Lightfall Clan. Although her mate Kenta is the official leader, she does most of the hard duties for him. Before she obtained a rare wildclaw scroll, she was a guardian, and Kenta was her charge. Now, they are still happily mated and she still protects him at all costs, although she doesn't quite feel the same deep need to constantly guard over him.

Spade was stolen by beastclans as an egg. As they were preparing to cook her, a pack of wolves raided the camp and they fled, leaving her behind. When she hatched, the wolves left her alone - she was already much too big for them to want to mess with. She ended up following them, treating them as her charge, and they let her for the protection factor. Eventually, they also grew emotionally attached to her, as she did them. When she found Kenta, she realized that he was her true charge - however, she still keeps in touch with the pack, and one of them stayed behind with her permanently.
