The well toned Mirror eyes you warily, muscles tense. It's clear from her posture that her hind legs are slower and weaker than they ought to be, and the scar over one of her left eyes makes it a safe wager that her vision is limited, but it looks like she knows how to compensate for those limitations. She is clearly a fighter but she hasn't struck yet, so perhaps it's safe to approach her?

Avrae is a very cautious dragon, having learned early in life the cost of recklessness. She will always treat a newcomer as if she expects an attack from them, and tends to be wary even around those she trusts. That being said she is not an overly hostile dragon, and once you've proven that you don't mean her or her clanmates any harm she will allow you free access in and out of her lair.
She is especially protective of hatchlings, and devotes a small portion of every day to checking on each and every hatchling and egg, making sure they're healthy and not being left out. She is not a very talkative dragon, preferring actions to words.

For the most part she has the average physique of any Mirror, except for her incredibly large and powerful wings.

When Avrae was young she was like most Mirrors, she stuck with her own kind and reveled in the hunt; Always she would try her luck against the most difficult of prey, striving to be the fastest and strongest. This headstrong attitude of hers was well respected among her peers, but it wound up costing her.

Thinking no prey would ever be a match for her she kept taking on larger foes, until one day she bit off more than she could chew. The battle severely damaged her hind legs, causing her to be unable to keep up with the pack. When they went on without her she found her will to go on greatly diminished. If it weren't for the intervention of a fierce and fatherly tundra her story may have ended there.

Under Marasca's watchful eye, Avrae trained and learned how to compensate for her disability. Eventually the two parted ways, though it wasn't long until a fierce storm drove her to seek shelter and meet another tundra, a young male named Verdan. In the midst of the storm Verdan and Avrae wound up with a clutch of three healthy arcane eggs, but when they hatched the two parted ways.

As time passed it became apparent that with her legs as weakened as they were, and with young ones to tend, a life of wandering wouldn't do, and so Avrae began to carve out a lair of her own.

With the passage of time, more and more lost dragons came to her. At first she was hostile, but she missed the feel of being in a large pack and eventually accepted them. Some would leave after a time, but others stayed and eventually she found herself as the head of a ragtag clan of misfits and outcasts. It was then that two of her children left to make names for themselves, and not long after that Verdan joined her clan.

Now that her clan is large and successful, it is no longer only the lost who come to her.
