Born into the harsh frozen lands of the Southern Icefield, where resources could be in short supply. Thief learned about 'borrowing' at an early age from a few of the Ridgebacks living in his parents' clan. He was only too eager to put these new skills to use, and found he was quite good at it. After all, he was so small, and many dragons could be distracted by watching his mimicry. They would not even notice when casual brushes past them left their coin pouches missing or emptied. But they certainly caught on to the fact that he would always be nearby whenever things were last seen, so the young scoundrel was sent off to live elsewhere.

He found his way to the clan through Cove, whom caught the younger Nocturne trying to take the bauble from the end of her tail while at the Auction House. Amused by his boldness, she named him Thief, and brought him back to the clan.

The two got along splendidly, both delighted to teach one another their skills at stealing. Most of the time they can be found traveling out together on a small boat, taking turns flying out and stealing what they can find, then returning to store their riches on the boat.

When they are back in the Caverns most of the clan tries not to ask too many questions as to where their loot came from, though Azriel can get quite stern with them. After a few too many times when items or treasure had gone amiss he gave the pair a good thrashing, and warned them that if they stole from the clan again or endangered the clan with their stealing, they would no longer have a home there. Since the incident the pair has ceased all attempts to 'relocate' the belongings of their clanmates, and spend much of their time whispering conspiratorially amongst themselves.
