_____The phrase "be careful what you wish for" should very well be heeded when there are cruel gods about. Not all care very much for the lives of mortals, and some just wish to play a joke. The joke may not be funny, but it will have a twist of cruel irony.

_____Hecate was born a regular baby. She grew up to be fascinated by magic and had extraordinary abilities thanks to the convergence of her parents' bloodlines. She learned and outgrew her teachers, never satisfied with what was within her grasp. She always wanted to learn more. Her search led her to some... questionable places where she found equally questionable information. She was captivated by the old texts from times not described in history. Tirelessly she worked to translate them and discover what was written within.

_____Translate them she did (she was very clever), but she did not heed the warnings. She didn't heed them out of carelessness, rather she was not aware of them. The books were keys to accessing higher level information by explaining a detailed process to opening a small rift in the world of existence. Once the rift was opened she could venture inside to see the Truth.

_____She did end up creating the rift and peering within. No one knows however what is beyond our existence since Hecate can't share what she knows. She likely doesn't even know what she knows. Her mind was reduced to a feral state. She acts out of instinct and can't process much past her senses and how to react to the sensory information (a new smell ⟶ rip it to shreds).

_____Even as a beast she perceives the world differently than those who live in it. Distance and time to her are easy to traverse, though going backwards is impossible. She can slip in and out of existence wherever she would like.
