“ He glided into his second clan on silent feet with his head hung low, weeping about a destroyed home, a dead family, and a rampaging Emperor. It was no long before his strides are accompanied by the clink of jewels and the sigh of silk, an ever-present smirk at his mouth. He had what he’d wanted.
Cain, in all his gilded narcissism, was once Clan Sunsharp's spymaster, smuggler, and discord-sower. With his knack for uncovering secrets, Cain was one step ahead of any plots against the clan, whispers of rebellion, and potential beastclan activities. All of which he murmured in the ears of the fourfold leadership, who disliked his smug grin and the way he skulks about the lair, but viewed him as an unfortunate necessity. Cain helped avoid more potential disasters than they could count.
With an irrepressable flair for the dramatic, he lurked on the sidelines of the action as his clanmates argued over seeds of discontent he'd planted. And, for a time, no one caught on that he was the source of so much discord. Nobody noticed his black market dealings, either, or his increased cooperation with the Serthis.

For a time.

That time lasted only until his schemings caused real damage, and an uprising of Shade threatened to bring the clan to its knees. There was no escaping that - no honeyed words that could buy forgiveness. He fled, as any wise dragon would.

But Cain has learned to view endings rather as beginnings. Yes, he was hunted; he’d never have a home at Sunsharp again. But what was that to stop him? There are many lives left in this wide world that he’d yet to live; and he, more than anyone, knows that anything can be bought with the right price.
And so, Cain begins again, not as spymaster but as pirate, in partnership with the illustrious Murdoch - who, though young, may just prove to be Cain’s equal.”
