Caramel
Gentle | Warm | Pure | Safe Caramel was named for the gentle color of his coat. He lived a long and happy life in his old clan, living with a mate he has since forgotten, and having a large family. One day, the clan was attacked, and Caramel was swept up by bandits. Held captive, he saw unimaginable horrors. Crysis stepped in, negotiating with the bandits to release him. When the ransom was paid, Caramel became one of the first to join the Xelestial clan. He is quiet, preferring to stay in the corners, watching over the clan from the shadows. No one pesters him about his past, and he doesn't mention it. He simply is. A soft, warm, calming member of the clan. At peace with his past, and his present, he simply moves forward.

The Story of Caramel
Theme
I joined FR on 12-17-2016. A few weeks after joining, one of my friends called for help in a discord chat. They had accidentally put Caramel on the AH for 5k instead of 50 like they wanted. He had, at the time, a piece of ms paint art that was received for free and a short lore blurb. He was snatched up instantly, and they were unable to take the listing down in time.
They messaged the player who bought him, but were unable to negotiate a buyback, despite offering 5x the buying price. The Buyer ended up blocking my friend, after being exceptionally rude and cursing my friend out.
I took it upon myself to message the Buyer and offer to purchase Caramel, as I was a new person in the exchange. I figured that I could offer a fair amount and buy the dragon back. At the time I sent the first message, Caramel was already level 10, and in danger of being exalted.
I offered a fair price of 25k, and offered to negotiate. The Buyer immediately assumed that I was attempting to proxy buy for my friend. Which I was, but that couldn't be known. So I fibbed a little bit and said I wasn't. I was interested in him for a project of mine. That was all. The Buyer immediately insisted that art, even the free, honestly terrible, ms paint art that Caramel had normally sold for 200-500k treasure. I immediately knew that was complete bull and countered with an offer of 150-175kt, or 200k if I could have a few extra hours to buy him. The offer of 200k treasure was accepted.
And so began the scramble. After 6 hours of messaging back and forth and feverishly selling anything I had on hand, grinding the fairgrounds, and collecting treasure from my friends, I was at a measly 142kt, 60k off the target price. With time ticking away quickly, and no more treasure to grind elsewhere, I took to the wind fourms. I offered art, dragons, even breeding pairs for the remaining money, and waited.
Around 20 minutes after I posted, an amazing windie came to the rescue. 60k treasure, no strings attached, and they'd take any fodder dragons I had to offer.
And so, I sent off Joy, Pride, and Relief... and Caramel came home.
Since then, he has remained here, safe and sound. He's gotten a mate, more art, and a loving home.
And that's a true happy ending.

Caramel
This Tundra smells faintly of woodsmoke. Around his neck hangs a homemade leather thong strung with elk-horn beads. Each bead bears an engraved image of an elk standing under different phases of the moon. Caramel seems to enjoy shaking his mane when others are watching and letting the beads clack together noisily. {Written by pibolarbears)
