Caught borrowing from the wrong lair, Lir found himself in a bit of trouble when the Mirrors of the lair came across him- and called upon their Guardians. Using what Lir considered drastic measures, he was taught his lesson and abandoned in a scarcely populated area of the Lightning domain.

When Velia stumbled across him, he was half dead from blood loss and had lost more of his back legs than he still retained. She took pity on him, understanding the ways of the Ridgebacks and also knowing that it was possible to change your nature, having done so herself. She quickly retrieved Marivaunt and had him help, bringing the Ridgie back to their lair.

Once he'd been patched up, Marivaunt was ready to send him on his way- but Velia's persistence ended that train of thought. Lir became a member of the clan, doing what he could and helping angrily around the lair. He was quiet and withdrawn, angry and feeling isolated and needy. He wanted nothing more than to be left alone, but the clan had other ideas.

transparentBar%20wide_zps15odqfaj.png A young Pearlcatcher in the group, Turan, surprised everyone by taking an interest in him, despite her vain ways. She spent as much time as possible with him, and the two would later go on to have a clutch together before she headed off to finish her journey with the Stormcatcher. A Snapper with blacksmithing skills- Alru- joined the group and fashioned him some prosthetic legs. They weren't pretty, aesthetics cost a treasure that the small clan couldn't spare, but they were functional and gave him back some of his independence. When Stark joined, he improved upon them- both in appearance and in function.

Scarred and still reserved, still angry, Lir has given in and admitted that these dragons, this lair... they are family and this is home. He's pushed himself- working with Alru and Stark and his blasted legs- until he's one of the strongest in the lair, and he uses that to defend his home and his family from anything that might be foolish enough to cross them.
