Biography
Note To Self:
Change breed to coatl so that he can stay in my lair permanently (Ping OG owner when changed "Cavatica")
Heavy.
So heavy.
And he knows he isn’t supposed to feel this way.
They told him he was meant for something great, his charge of an unimaginable importance.
“You will know when you encounter it.”
But it has been so long and the only thing he knows is that it’s getting harder to move.
Everyday his feet sink deeper into the ground, everyday it’s a greater strain to lift his wings, a more exhausting task to keep his head up.
He still remembers how it felt to be a hatchling,
Light on his feet and quick.
And he knows it’s in his head,
He’s not that old but his joints creak when he walks, the ground vibrates under his weight and his heart thumps panicked when he sees how little distance he’s covered in a day.
He is so slow.
They told him he was Gladekeeper incarnate and he was fearful not proud.
They look at him now in pity; chargeless, half-a-dragon.
He knows he isn’t supposed to feel this way, but maybe it’s for the better.
Something is wrong, it’s in his head, he knows,
But he is trapped in this rock heavy, numb carcass of a body and it’s getting harder to move.
He wonders if one day he will wake up rooted to the ground, eyes turned towards the treetops but stuck, finally, stuck on the ground,
If that is the day his white dove leaves one last time.
He knows he isn’t supposed to feel this way, but he is so heavy,
And maybe, just maybe,
He wasn’t supposed to be like this at all.
