Water Ambassador, Head Fisherman

"... Are we alone?"
Umi was born into a clan in the Tidelord's domain. His affinity for water led him to grow into a proficient fisherman able to read the currents of magic to know where the best shoals for fish were to be found. One day while fishing he met Blueberry, the coatl waiting on the shoreline near his fishing spot. The two began to talk and Umi was surprised to find a plague dragon gifted with the ability to see the future. Blueberry's words didn't make sense to him, though. He would travel far when the depths grew silent? They were never silent, many large clans dwelling in the depths so as to be closer to the Tidelord and his prophecies. Putting the strange coatl's words from his mind, Umi returned to his task of collecting fish for his clan. It wasn't for a few more months that he thought of his strange encounter. The ever-present sounds emitting from the Spiral Keep suddenly ceased. The Tidelord's disappearance spread unease through the clans. Many began to leave, travelling to other territories where the deities were still present to either feel safe or to look for signs of their missing god. Remembering Blueberry's words, Umi followed some of the exodus, travelling until he had located the Hotaru clan. Asking Blueberry if this was what he had been supposed to do, if the other's words had been from the Tidelord, Blueberry only winked. |

Umi was uncertain about what to do but eventually he settled down within the clan. Holding on to his traditions, Umi continued to practice the traditional fishing he'd been taught by his birth clan. While he is not against teaching others none of the other dragons who help him have as good a sense for where the fish are. Lately Umi does a little less fishing as opposed to directing the group of trained dragons where to go and monitoring the weather conditions to make sure his crews are safe. Umi is a very traditional dragon. While he is not against learning new ways of doing things, he prefers older ways over new if there is no significant difference in the outcome. Although he dearly misses his birth clan, Umi has grown to love the Hotaru clan for all of their varied personalities and types of people. Not much of a seer, Umi still has some of the skill inherent to dragons of his element which manifests as a knowledge of when storms may hit, especially ones which might hurt the others he works with. Quiet and non-talkative, Umi prefers to show over tell. Name Origin: Sea in Japanese, I think. |

I know it may seem I am mostly picking your flight ambassadors, but they are just so amazingly done I just have to and this guy is especially. I love the deep rich blues paired with the brighter blues of the accent, it looks amazing and really pops out on the dark background - this is the best use of this accent I have seen. I also enjoy that you have your ambassadors not just have that as a job but they are also apart of another, like Umi is a fisherman, it really gives so many lore options which I love that you took advantage of in his lore. The lore ties in with his apparel as well with the fish net and the lovely fish swimming around him, which look like their swimming in the ocean with his dark blue body.
