A witch in the most traditional sense, Meras spends her time poring over old tomes or peering into a cauldron. She is interested in what she can use magic to accomplish. Her knowledge is very expansive, however, she prefers to be more studious than to actually use her magic to do much. She's become detached from her ice-based magic, however, she still uses it on occasion to better preserve ingredients. She does not leave her lair much, being so wrapped up in her work, so Sullie tends to gather things for her. While she does enjoy wading through the Gladeveins, her size makes gathering supplies a bit impractical, and even when she is outside, she finds herself lost in thought and longing for a book to study.

She is close to both Sullie and Hekkahenne, who share her profession and interest in the intersection of magic and the natural world. While Sullie is less of a bookworm than she is, they enjoy bouncing ideas off of each other while Hekkahenne learns and listens. While Meras was initially excited for someone else to be interested in what she does, Fern's constant prodding and questioning about her research has become grating, and she now tends to chase him off when he stops by.
