She shares in the sadistic amusements of her lifemate, Kitakaze. She's only slightly more gentle and kind than he is, however she is very cruel to those she doesn't care about. For all her cruelty, she may as well have been born as a plague dragon. The rest of the clan distances themselves from her, because where Kitakaze is insane and quite gruesome, he is predictable. Nerine is not. She may look all pleasant on the surface, or seem normal for once, but then she'll grin her creepy as heck grin, or slip in a comment about how she would like to find out the colour and smell of X dragon's intestines. The others of the clan are stupidly unsettled by her. Mothers never allow her near hatchlings - not that they have to try hard. Though those who have seen Nerine with her own hatchlings say she doesn't ever hurt them. She's strangely kind and gentle, cooing to them. She never lets Kitakaze near them and he has a few scars from his attempts to see his own children. He's since learnt to keep away from her once she lays her eggs. She is fiercely protective of them - and those hatchlings that have grown up and explored the clan before leaving have all seemed quite 'normal', for lack of better word. Some have become healers, others scribes. It's rare for her to pass on the intensity of her aggression and fascinations to them. |
