Although Bloodorange is the trickster of the lair he also takes cares of the children. He often gives them small trinkets and stones that shine with similar colours. Even when the dragons grow up and often are much larger than he is, he is still protective over them, often coming by to visit their nests.

Taking care of the children is not the only job that Bloodorange took on, he also brings the familiars from the keepers and helps the young dragons find the one that suits them best.

As a hoarder of shiny objects Bloodorange enjoys the shiny gifts that each one of his previous wards brings him and keeps them in a special place in his nest.

If asked the gifts are why he is often seen with Rose. He claims that he needs little pillows and scarves dyed so that he has gifts to give in return. Except no one has ever received any of these items.

When Rose and Blood started sharing a nest no one was surprised, some even made noises about it taking long enough.

They adopted the progenitors daughter Dart after finding her wondering around, and have never been happier with their small daughter. Orange was delighted when she started working with him. He loves watching her entertain the hatchlings, he has never had more pride in someone than he had in his adopted daughter.
